Beskrivning. How do we construct national identities in discourse? Which topics, which discursive strategies and which linguistic devices are employed to construct 

continuity of national identity. Bearing this in mind, we ask: How do citizens in contemporary Serbia strategically use historical continuities and discontinuities, and what purpose do these serve in the discursive construction of their national identity?
